Memorial Day pranks and fun

Our memorial day was a good one, although it started way too early. At 1 am our doorbell rang and we discovered it had been wrapped courtesy of some of the youth and former youth of our ward. I had worked until midnight, and hadn't gone to bed yet so at least they didn't wake me up. But it was still pretty annoying, especially since they did a good job. We left it alone until morning, which turned out not to be the best decision as the sprinklers in the flower beds ran during the night. The wrapping did give us the opportunity to try a new way we had heard about of cleaning up it up--lighting it on fire. Rachel and I did it, and it was actually pretty cool--although a little unnerving watching the fire creep up the trees. It worked pretty well, and were were able to clean up the majority of the mess (leaving just enough to hopefully deter repeat attacks).

Later that morning, we went and saw the new Indiana Jones movie. We then went over the the McLemores for the evening. We ate, the girls swam and then Greg and I played Ticket to Ride with Mike and Alicia while the girls played Guitar Hero. It was a fun, relaxing day--one that makes me think we need more holidays!
