Yike! It's Ike part 2

Second email from Greg to our family about Ike

Hello All,

I wanted to send you an update on what is happening. The storm is still a category 2 storm and the maximum wind predictions for here at the house are still around 75-85 MPH maximum. Winds like this should not cause significant damage to our home. We have boarded up the larger windows to protect against limbs from thee trees or any debris.

The news is showing the start of the storm surge in Galveston. Galveston is starting to flood and Bolivar is completely inundated. Luckily we do not have to worry about storm surge where we are but we are feeling the early effects in the form of increasing winds and clouds. No problems yet in north west Harris County where we are.

We are in the process of cleaning the yard of anything that could be picked up by the wind and moving it to the garage. Other than these final steps we are feeling prepared and ready for the main storm to pass by us overnight/early tomorrow morning.
