First Day of School!

The girls went back to school on Monday, Aug 25. This year seminary also started on the 25th. This is a big change as the stake usually give the kids a week before seminary starts. That has always been nice because it allows us to slowly transition into that 6 am start time. But not this year, so the girls had to be ready to walk out the door before 6 this morning. Guess how they felt about that?

The first two days of the new schedule was pretty easy, but by Wednesday morning we were dragging. This may have been due in part to the fact that the youth had a temple trip Tuesday night, the girls went almost immediately from band to the temple. This meant that homework didn't even get looked at until around 9:30. Poor Rachel was up until after midnight. Good thing she is young! A schedule like that would kill me!

Everything with school went pretty smoothly the first week. Erin seems to be adjusting well to high school, but complains that she doesn't know where anything is and has a hard time getting to her classes very quickly. Rachel ended up having a conflict with her Calculus and AP European History classes, and was moved to College Algebra. It is an on level class and she was bored to tears the first day, and went to see if she could transfer to Statistics but it conflicted with 3 of her classes. So she decided she would just have to deal with an easy math class (and hopefully an easy A). She can take it as dual credit if she wants, but it will only be good if she stays in Texas so I am not sure she will do that. She doesn't have to decide about that until next semester, so there is no rush.

I miss summer already!
